Professor Marta Miączyńska is an internationally recognized scientist in the field of molecular cell biology, trained in Poland, the UK, Austria and Germany. Member of Polish Academy of Sciences, European Molecular Biology Organization and Academia Europaea. Since 2018, Director of International Institute of Molecular and Cell Biology in Warsaw (IIMCB), one of the top research institutes in Poland.

Professor Miączyńska studies the logistics of transport inside cells that occurs by cargo-laden membrane vesicles moving between intracellular compartments. Among others, she discovered a separate population of such vesicles. Her current research reveals aberrations in intracellular transport in cancer cells that can serve to design new therapies in oncology.
